CDDB/ID3 Preferences

If you have a connection to the Internet, AudioCatalyst can connect you to the Compact Disc Data Base (CDDB). CDDB is used for retrieving disc title and track names from an Internet database. CDDB consists of servers containing CD information from all over the world. To learn more about CDDB including how to access CDDB from behind a firewall, visit their Web site at http://www.CDDB.com.

Paperpen.gif (1068 bytes)Macintosh system versions prior to 8.0 may not include a CD Remote Programs database. If your system does not have a CD Remote Programs database, make sure the Check CD Remote Programs database before CDDB and Store CDDB data in CD Remote Programs database options are not selected.

Check CD Remote Programs database before CDDB tells AudioCatalyst to check your database before CDDB. If you have used this audio CD with AudioCatalyst before and stored the CDDB track information in the the CD Remote Programs database, the track information is taken from your CD Remote Programs Database without running CDDB again.

Store CDDB data in CD Remote Programs database automatically stores the CDDB track information for your audio CDs in your database. By storing the CDDB information when you insert a CD in AudioCatalyst, the track information appears without running CDDB again.

Automatically Fetch CD Info every time a CD track is added to the encode queue tells AudioCatalyst to check CDDB everytime you add a track to the Encode Queue.

If no genre given use allows you to insert a genre in the ID3 tag for a track if CDDB does not provide the genre information.

If no comment given use the comment below allows you to insert a custom comment in the ID3 tag for a track.
